• Question: what is your Favourite part about your job

      Haha, excellent name! My favourite part would be getting to answer the questions no one else knows the answer to. I do a lot of reading about other people’s work that is similar to mine, then think how to build on their work.

      For example, if someone finds out that the packages I’m looking at have a lot of calcium in, then I will design an experiment to see how this extra calcium affects growing bone cells. No one has done that experiment before, and when I find out the answer it will be used to come up with new medicines and treatments in the future.

      No one knows the answer yet, and if I answer it, I feel like I’ve accomplished something important! Like coming up with a great answer on a quiz show!

      I really enjoy working in the lab, it is active for my body and your mind, it involves working with others, problems solving and having fun.
