From space dust!
.
After the Big Bang, particles went flying everywhere. Some got closer together and started to hang out. The more there were in a group, the more wanted to join (because of their stronger joint gravitational pull). That formed clouds of dust called a “solar nebula”. Some of those particles got even closer together, and formed the Sun! The remaining dust also started to lump into smaller groups – one of those became the Earth.
4560 million years ago, the solar system formed as a disk of debris around the new born Sun. Particles in the disk stuck together and collided with nearby particles, forming grains. These grains then collided with other grains, growing bigger in size. This continued for millions of years, eventually forming planets sized object, like the Earth.
