As long as there is Sun and air on our planet, there will always be wind!
.
We might run out of coal, oil and gas, we might run out of nuclear power sources, but we’ll never run out of wind – which makes it a pretty good source for us 🙂 Also, it doesn’t release as many nasty gases!
Like Agnes said, there’s always wind blowing! That energy just goes to waste unless we try and capture it by putting a wind turbine in front of it. Gas, oil, coal and nuclear energy all use something that will eventually run out, and cause a lot of pollution, wind doesn’t.
It’s not always a good way, a lot of energy is currently lost when the wind blows at night and everyone is asleep. Wind power suffers from ‘intermittancy’, meaning it is not always available when it is needed.
I am working on a solution to this, we drill a deep hole, and at night, when the wind blows, we use the electricity to pump water underground. When we need more electric, we flip a switch, and the earth squeezes the water out, it turns a turbine and we get electricity.
@John That’s fantastic! Yeah, a downside of many types of renewable energy is that it’s not always there when needed and we don’t always need it when it’s there…
