I find many parts of science interesting and it changes all the time. I am really interested in clouds at the moment. How they form the shapes they make, It’s really interesting. Outside my own work that is.

I like solving problems and understanding new things. Ideally something that no-one has worked out before. But it’s also fun to learn new things which other people discovered.

In general: I love that there are lots of questions that science can’t answer yet!! We’re not satisfied with a “because it is” answer, so we keep looking for real reasons, and our knowledge keeps growing 😀
      .
Specifically: My favourite bit of science is when different sciences overlap. For example “biomimetics” – copying nature to improve technology. I’m a physicist, but a part of my work is based on trying to recreate the pattern from an eye of a moth in a piece of glass – this makes light stop reflecting so much!

I love working with such clever people who know so many interesting things about the body, and physics and allsorts! I also love being able to have all the tools to figure out interesting questions I can think of. Also, getting to play with microscopes and lasers is cool isn’t it!
