      This PhD? I was 33! so quite old for a student! You can do it at any age though, which is good because it meant I could do lots of jobs and realise how much better being a scientist was!

      I started working in a university as a lecturer when I was 30 (and became a professor at 40). Before that I did a PhD and several research jobs.

      I started my job 6 years ago, so I was 26.

      I was 26 when I finished my PhD and got this job, which is my first proper science job
